Why Chiropractic?

Why Chiropractic?

It’s all based on this one simple principle:

‘ The power that made the body heals the body’

Most people think that chiropractors treat low back pain, neck pain, whiplash and headaches. We do treat those symptoms, but what chiropractors really do is treat the cause of the problem not just the symptoms. The body has the ability to heal itself given the right environment.

The best application of chiropractic in our lives is preventative maintenance. Just like maintenance on a car. It’s easier to maintain the workings of the car to keep it in good running order than to wait till it breaks down and fix it. One of the most important ways of maintaining health is keeping the spine well adjusted. The nervous system is the master system and it starts in the brain and travels to all parts of the body through the spinal cord and nerves. When misalignments happen in the spine, called subluxations, it interferes with the transmission of the master system to all parts of the body. Adjustments remove nerve interferences therefore allowing better communication between the brain and the body. Chiropractors encourage spinal adjustments for the nervous system as well as good nutrition, rest, good water, positive emotional thoughts and good exercise.

Chiropractic allows for the body to be stress-free as possible by improving motion at every segment of the spine.People that stay adjusted find that they are less stressed, sleep better and have more energy. That’s why the chiropractor analyzes your body for nerve interference that occurs as a result of our stressful lifestyles.

Our stressful lifestyles as well as accidents large and small can cause subluxations which put pressure on nerves. Subluxations or small misalignments of the vertebra that cause that segment of the spine to become locked and therefore interfering with nerve flow as well as mechanically disrupting motion. When these subluxations go undetected long enough, the results can be devastating. It can cause organs not to function properly, glands not to produce hormones properly, allergies, pain, reproductive problems, spinal degeneration and more.

In addition to functional problems, subluxations can cause decay of the spinal structure. The discs that are located between the vertebra rely on proper motion of the vertebra above and below to maintain proper health of the disc. Once a subluxation occurs, the disc doesn’t get motion and it becomes stagnant which causes decay of the disc. Once the disc becomes weakened than the body’s response to that weakened area is to lay down extra calcium which is known as bone spur formation. Once bone spurs have grown around the vertebra, additional loss of motion occurs as well as pinching and irritating of nerves that exit that region.

Chiropractors are well-trained and are the leading alternative healthcare providers out there.
